The Tiger\'s Apprentice

A movie adaptation of Laurence Yep`s fantasy novel of the same name, which revolves around a Chinese American boy named Tom. He lives in San Francisco`s Chinatown with his eccentric grandmother, who, he later discovers, is the guardian of the phoenix egg. After his grandmother loses in a battle and perishes, Tom finds himself unwittingly thrown into a magical world, where he soon falls under the tutelage and protection of a shape-shifting talking tiger called Mr. Hu.
