劇情很細膩，不刻意以大場面、大感情煽動情緒，容易使人認為這是一部客觀的史詩電影。不過，藝術化的歷史敘述總是傾向於落後文明或者說弱者。先進文明或者說強者的形象刻畫總是有點單一。
