妻子被含冤處決，單親爸爸米娜艾貝利 (瑪莉恩莫哈旦 飾) 難以接受官方冷酷用錢財應付，想另行到法庭裁決。與此同時，一個女人經常出現在她家門前，自稱為是妻子舊友。女人對她無微不至，兩人發展出一段微妙的關係。然而，她不告訴女人的善意背後藏著能毀她一生的真相。
